Juried Art Competition
Artwork submissions are DUE BY: March 22, 2024. Event will take place on Friday, April 5, 2024.

We welcome artists of all backgrounds and experience levels to submit to this opportunity. Artists must be high school students.
Participation in Friends University Art Challenge is capped at 20 juniors and seniors participants per school along with a 250 total limit on the entire event. We will send an admittance list before the event.
Awards
This competitive exhibition is designed to recognize artistic talent at the senior high level (grades 9-12) within the state of Kansas.
Winners of the Competition/Exhibition will be announced via email (to artist and teacher) and on social media (Facebook, Instagram).
The following prizes & scholarships will be awarded for EACH category in the art competition/exhibit:
- Best of Show: $8,000 scholarship
- 1st place: $6,000 scholarship
- 2nd place: $4,000 scholarship
- Honorable mention: $2,000 scholarship
- Every entry: $1,500 visual art scholarship to Friends University
* Visual arts scholarships may fluctuate.
Winners will also be honored in an art show and First Friday gallery opening on June 2nd in the Friends University Riney Fine Arts Gallery.
Categories
- 2D: Photography, mixed media,
printmaking, painting, drawing and digital art. - 3D: Sculpture, modeling, package design, printing, ceramics, metal/glass work.
- Video and animation.
